1941 Chevrolet Master Deluxe woodie station wagon with a Cantrell body.  One of only four known to exist.   I am the third owner of the vehicle and it spent most of its life on the West Coast.    I have owned it for three years and have probably driven it about 300 miles.  It’s in fantastic shape.  The wood is sound, tight and original.  There are a few minor blemishes in the finish of the fenders and hood, but absolutely no rust or body filler. It has many original accessories such as fog lights, fender chrome, grille guard, traffic light indicator lens, and brown leather seats, and unmounted sun visor.  During construction these station wagons were fitted with either Campbell or Cantrell wood bodies.  Of the 2,045 wagons produced for Chevrolet in 1941, less than 300 were built by Cantrell. It is my understanding that the Cantrell bodies were of a higher quality.  The Cantrell body had thinner corner posts and a more detailed beltline design.  Cantrell also mounted the spare tire behind the driver’s seat.

The car was also featured in the book ‘Woodies and Wagons: A Pictorial History’. In addition, the car’s provenance appears in an article featured in a Huntington, Long Island Historical Society brochure.

In the late 1990’s the car was restored with many new mechanical parts.  I have pages which contain a list of the individual parts and things done to the vehicle by the previous owner.  The cost of all these parts and work are listed in detail and come to a total of $41,350.39.  Copies of this list are available upon request by serious, potential buyers.  The car drives great and cruises at 60 to 65 mph on the open highway.    Everything is original, stock, ‘41 Chevrolet equipment, from motor to trim.  This is a beautiful example of a very rare car.  My failing health indicates it’s time to part with the vehicle.

Asking $49,000 .  Contact OldChevys4U@yahoo.com with all inquiries.
