1940 Chevy truck frame up restoration, excellent condition.  Has 45,543 original miles.  We were told that the engine is a 1 and 1/2 ton, while the car is a 1 ton truck.  Since the serial numbers of the engine and truck are only 1 digit apart, this may be due to an upgrade at the time of purchase.  Owner in failing health and needs to sell.

Asking $14,500.  Email oldchevys4u@yahoo.com with all inquiries.

  1. IS THIS TRUCK RESTORED TO ORIGINAL AND WHAT MOTOR DOES I HAVE IN IT?

  2. As far as I know it is the original motor. Someone looked at the numbers the other day and said he thought the motor was for a 1 1/2 ton truck, but he figured it was an upgrade when it was new. I had always thought it was an 85 hp, “stove bolt” engine. I believe it is the stock engine.
